RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State Athletics, Sustainability, Waste Reduction and Recycling and the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management program of the College of Natural Resources are partnering to help turn the Friday, April 29 home baseball game against Maryland green.
Composting and recycling bins will be placed throughout the park and volunteers will do a sweep of the stadium afterwards to sort any waste left behind. Coca-Cola has generously donated koozies made of recycled material for the first couple hundred attendees.
Don't forget to stop by the sustainability table and register to win a pair of tickets to the Rapids Jam.
If you are interested in assisting, volunteers receive:
- NC State t-shirts from Athletics
- Zoe's Kitchen gift cards and/or Harris Teeter gift cards.
- Miscellaneous items from University Dining
NC State Athletics is committed to become a more environmentally responsible organization and the greening of events is one of many steps the organization is undertaking. For more information on the Athletic Department's commitment to sustainability, go here.
