Rahmatabadi, Farina Earn Academic Honor

RALEIGH, N.C. – Wolfpack wrestlers Brett Farina and Pedram Rahmatabadi were named to the All-ACC Academic team on Tuesday.
To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA during their academic career.
Rahmatabadi, an international relations major, started for the Wolfpack much of the past season and fashioned a 12-13 record with a pin at 125 pounds. Farina, majoring in business administration, was a primary back-up at 141 and 149 pounds and had a 5-9 overall record at those two weight classifications.
The All-ACC Academic Team is part of the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards program, which was established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports. Candidates for the awards must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average for their career as well as a 3.0 for each of the last two semesters.
