RALEIGH, N.C. – Grillers grab your tongs and get ready for the inaugural Wolfpack Club BBQ Bowl.
The event, held in conjunction with the annual Kay Yow Spring Football Game at Carter-Finley Stadium, will begin at 10 a.m. in the motor home parking lot, adjacent to the Murphy Center. The barbecue cook-off is one part of the WolfPACKed Weekend that includes the annual football players’ reunion, the spring football game, a home baseball series, women’s tennis matches and a men’s golf tournament.
For more information about the weekend's events, go to the WolfPACKed information page here.
All Wolfpack Club members are eligible to participate in the cook-off, which will be limited to the first 25 registered teams. Each team may have as many as four cooks, but one of the cooks must have an active membership in the Wolfpack Club.
Registration fee is $150, which includes a 100-lb dressed whole hog, four T-shirts, four aprons, and 10 barbecue plate lunches for your team. For more information, contact Burns McNeill at 919-865-1460.
The overall winner of the event, which is a N.C. Pork Council-sanctioned event, will represent the Wolfpack Club in the annual North Carolina BBQ Cook-off, which is held at the NC State Fairgrounds each fall.
Judges will award prizes for first, second and third place and local personalities will determine their own favorite barbecue.
