OXFORD, MISS. --- Mark Nations fired a smallbore personal record of 562 as NC State rifle finished seventh at the 2011 GARC Championships Sunday on the campus of Ole Miss.
The Pack’s final tally for the weekend read 4,504, with a 2,243 in smallbore and a 2,261 air rifle score.
William Teller represented the Wolfpack’s top finisher, coming in 34th with a 577 air rifle, 568 smallbore, and 1,147 total.
SEARC individual champion Bryan Cross finished 52nd with an 1,124 total. Cross’s 574 ranked him 37th in the air rifle standings.
Freshman Madeline Pike closed her first season with a 41st place finish in the smallbore competition on a 563.
Five of the seven GARC members have qualified for the NCAA Championships, including West Virginia and Kentucky, both frontrunners for the national title. Army, Memphis, and Nebraska will also attend the national championships.
With the GARC Championships in the books, NC State rifle turns its attention to the 2011-12 season. Without any seniors on the roster, the Pack will return its entire squad and looks to add several new members.
