Amerson Earns 2011 CFPA Defensive Back Trophy

Raleigh, N.C. - NC State sophomore David Amerson has been named the recipient of the 2011 Defensive Back Trophy from College Football Performance Awards. Amerson received the award today during the men's basketball game vs. top-ranked Syracuse.

All CFPA recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. David Amerson intercepted 11 passes this season, the most in D-I FBS college football. Amerson is the second player to earn annual CFPA honors, following Nate Irving in 2010.

The Pack will face the Louisville Cardinals in the Belk Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. in Charlotte, North Carolina on December 27th.
