WILMINGTON, N.C. - Freshman Vivian Tsui notched the best finish of her career, a tie for seventh, at the Landfall Tradition Sunday after her third-straight 75, helping 13th-ranked NC State women’s golf to a tie for eighth of 18 teams.
Tsui slipped three spots over the final day, but managed her first career top-10 with a 9-over par effort, seven shots shy of the eventual medalist Paula Reto of Purdue.
The Pack battled back from a tie for 10th on Saturday to tie No. 4 North Carolina at 68-over par. The Wolfpack also secured wins over Notre Dame, Wake Forest, No. 23 Virginia, Mississippi, Tulane, Northwestern, Chattanooga, and UNC Wilmington to finish the fall season 52-14-2. Purdue took home the team title with a 40-over par total of 904.
Augusta James capped her event with the Pack’s best final round score, a 2-over 74 to move into 31st. Ana Menendez posted two shots behind James in a tie for 39th after a final round 79.
The Landfall Tradition marks the end of the Wolfpack’s fall schedule. NC State will return to action February 12 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.
