Cole Named Semifinalist for Butkus Award

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State linebacker Audie Cole was named a semifinalist for the 2011 Butkus Award today. The Butkus Award, in its 27th year, is annually given to the nation's top linebacker.
Cole leads the Wolfpack in both total tackles (75) and tackles for loss (8 for 31 yards), and is tied for the team lead in sacks (3 for 23 yards). He has also registered five quarterback pressures, two pass breakups and caused three fumbles. He has been the leading tackler on the team in four of State's seven contests this season, including a career-best 16 against both Cincinnati and Georgia Tech.
