Baseball's Dallas Poulk Named Third-Team All-America

RALEIGH, NC – For NC State second baseman Dallas Poulk, All-America honors will be the bookends that mark his excellent career at NC State. A Freshman All-American in 2007, Poulk was named third-team All-America on Thursday by Collegiate Baseball magazine.
Poulk is the 13th NC State All-American coached by head coach Elliott Avent, and the 28th overall.
Poulk enters play Friday in the NCAA Myrtle Beach Regional batting .358 with 22 doubles, 11 home runs, 78 runs scored and 58 RBIs. He is seventh in the nation in runs scored.
As he enters the final weeks of his career, Poulk is climbing the career top 10 lists for various categories in the NC State record book, and is steadily cementing his place as one of the best players in NC State history.
Poulk has 861 career at-bats to rank sixth in school history. He has 278 career hits, which ranks seventh. He has 11 career triples, which is tied for seventh. Poulk ranks 10th in career walks with 109, and is seventh in school history with 182 career runs scored
With 78 runs scored this season, Poulk is all alone in third place for runs in a single season. Tom Sergio scored 85 in 1997, and Brian Bark scored 83 in 1988.
