RALEIGH, N.C. - Matchups for the 12th annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge were announced on Wednesday afternoon, and NC State will travel to Wisconsin on Tuesday, December 1.
NC State has posted a 5-5 all-time record in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Wolfpack has won four of its five home games in the challenge, and has gone 1-4 on the road, winning at 19th-ranked Purdue in 1999-2000.
The ACC has won 10 of the first 11 Challenges with ACC teams winning 67 of the 108 games played. A year ago, the Big Ten won its first Challenge by a 6-to-5 margin. Road teams won six of the 11 games in 2009 and seven of the contests were decided by seven points or less, including four games by four or fewer points.
NC State will face Wisconsin for only the second time in school history. The only previous matchup came in the Sweet 16 round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament, when the Badgers downed the Pack 65-56 in Syracuse, N.Y.
For the sixth consecutive year, the Challenge will feature 11 games and include two telecasts on ESPNU with ESPN and ESPN2 combining to televise the remaining nine games. ESPN3.com, the broadband sports television network from ESPN, will simulcast the ESPN and ESPN2 telecasts.
