No. 30 W. Tennis Falls to No. 9 Miami

Raleigh, N.C. - The No. 30 NC State women's tennis team lost 7-0 to No. 9 Miami on Friday, April 2. The loss moves the Wolfpack to 9-7 and 1-5 in the ACC and the Hurricanes to 14-3 and 7-0 in the ACC.
The Hurricanes were too much for the Pack in doubles, winning all three matches. Berkeley Brock and Sandhya Nagaraj fell to No. 6 Gabriella Mejia and Laura Vallverdu, 8-5. Lenka Hojckova and Daria Petrovic were beaten 8-4 by No. 55 Anna Bartenstein and Bianca Eichkorn. Diana Mortlock and Pender Sessoms lost to Daniella Mills and Clauda Wasilewski, 8-5.
In singles, Sessoms lost 6-0, 6-0 to Wasilewski. Mortlock was defeated 6-1, 6-4 by Mills. Petrovic was beaten by No. 100 Mejia 6-2, 6-3 to give the Canes the win.
Hojckova battled hard in the first set against No. 7 Vallverdu, but couldn't get past her, losing 7-5, 6-0. No. 68 Nagaraj went three sets against No. 33 Eichkorn, falling short 2-6, 6-0, 6-4. Brock also went three sets and was defeated by No. 71 Bartenstein, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.
The Pack take on No. 22 FSU tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
