Game time set for UAB Game

RALEIGH, N.C. - The gametime for the NC State-UAB National Invitation Tournament second round contest has been set for a 4 p.m. CT tipoff (5:00 p.m. eastern).

The Blazers and Wolfpack will play in front of a nationally-televised audience Saturday afternoon at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, as the contest is set to be televised on ESPNU.

Sixth-seeded NC State advanced to play in Birmingham after a 58-57 upset win at No. 3 seed USF Tuesday. The Wolfpack's Richard Howell hit a layup with eight seconds remaining to lift his team to a victory. The win marked NC State's sixth victory over its last eight contests coming into its contest at UAB.

UAB, a No. 2 seed in the Mississippi State region, advanced to the second round of this year's NIT on the strength of a 65-49 victory over seventh-seeded Coastal Carolina Tuesday night. The win at Bartow Arena marked the fifth time the Blazers have hosted an NIT postseason game, winning each of the previous five contests.
