The matches marked the end of the 2009-10 regular season for NC State, which lifted its record to 13-8 with the wins. Sophomore 125-pounder Mike Moreno, sophomore 157-pounder Colton Palmer (two pins), junior Ray Ward (major decision and a technical fall), sophomore 174-pounder Quinton Godley (two pins) and freshman heavyweight Eloheim Palma all won two matches for NC State. The bouts were the first for Palmer since injuring his ankle January 9 at Duke.
The first match featured six pins, five of them in the first period, and four of them by Wolfpack wrestlers. Heavyweight Eloheim Palma, Brett Farina (157), Quinton Godley (174) and Christian McClean (197) all recorded pins for the Pack, which won seven of the 10 matches, including the last six in a row.
The Wolfpack won six of the first seven bouts vs. Campbell and was never in trouble in the team scoring.
NC State will take the next 18 days off in preparation for the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, which will be held Saturday, March 6 at Reynolds Coliseum.
