Football Players Continue to Earn Recognition

Linebacker Nate Irving and defensive end Michael Lemon are the two latest members of the NC State football team to earn recognition, with Irving set to be honored by the College Football Performance Awards and Lemon in the running for the 2010 Rudy Award.
Irving will be honored by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) at the men's basketball game against Youngstown State on Dec. 16 with a trophy presentation. The CFPA awards recipients exclusively using objective scientific rankings based upon meta-algorithms derived from differential equations, statistics, and probability.
Based on an extensive review of data, the CFPA determined that Irving was responsible for more overall success in 2010 than any other linebacker in Division I FBS football.
Lemon is currently in the running for the 2010 Rudy Award, given annually to a student-athlete that gave `something extra' to the team. Lemon's remarkable story of perseverance is well known by all members of the NC State community.
