RALEIGH, N.C. -
NC State defensive end Michael Lemon is one of three finalists for the 2010 Rudy Award.
The winner will be announced, and all three finalists – Lemon, Alex Henery (Nebraska) and Mark Herzlich (Boston College) - will all be honored in a ceremony in Dallas, Texas, on Jan. 11.
The Rudy Award is given annually to a student-athlete that gave `something extra' to the team.
Lemon's remarkable story of perseverance is well known by all members of the NC State community.
"He's been a joy to work with," said NC State head football coach Tom O'Brien. “He's been a joy to have around our football team."
