SPARTANBURG, S.C. - NC State rifle scored its first win of the season Saturday in Spartanburg, S.C. at the SEARC 4 meet.
William Teller led all Wolfpack shooters with a 577. Bryan Cross posted the team’s second-highest score, a 572.
NC State’s team total of 2,269 was good for wins over North Georgia, Clemson, Wofford, and Georgia Military College to improve the Wolfpack’s record to 20-6 (18-3 SEARC, 0-2 GARC).
Freshman Madeline Pike scored a 561 on the afternoon. Mark Nations notched a 559. Martha Hall fired a 552.
“I thought we did a little better at this meet,” said NC State rifle head coach Keith Miller. “It wasn’t a great score, but we’re certainly improving. Though The Citadel didn’t compete at this meet, it was still important for us to secure our first win.”
NC State returns to the range November 19 for a two-day meet in Morgantown, W. Va. The Wolfpack will compete against GARC opponents West Virginia and Nebraska over the weekend to close out its fall season.
