RALEIGH, N.C. - Jake Buchanan continues to roll for Cotuit as the summer season winds down in the Cape Cod League. Buchanan followed up back-to-back complete games last week with a seven-inning outing at Brewster on Monday. He allowed two runs on seven hits, walking one and striking out six in the 5-3 victory. Buchanan's efforts earned him Cape Cod League Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of July 19-25.
To show how well Buchanan has pitched this summer, that outing actually raised his ERA for the summer. Through six starts, Buchanan (3-1) has posted a 0.84 ERA in 43 innings, including the two complete games. He has walked six and struck out 38. The league is hitting just .209 off the Wolfpack righty.
Andrew Ciencin - Forest City Owls (Coastal Plain League)
Ciencin played a big part of Forest City’s CPL record-tying 42nd victory in Asheboro on Tuesday, going 3-for-6 with four runs scored in a 13-11 shootout with the Copperheads.
In 23 games since joining Forest City, Ciencin is hitting .330 (31-for-94) with three doubles, a triple, two home runs, and 15 RBIs.
The Owls broke the CPL record for wins on Wednesday, shutting out Martinsville 5-0 to improve to 43-7 on the year. The victory bested the old mark of 42 set by Fayetteville in 2007.
Chris Schaeffer - Green Bay Bullfrogs (Northwoods League)
Schaeffer extended his season-long hitting streak to seven games on July 23 against Eau Claire, collecting an RBI-double in five trips in a 7-5 loss for Green Bay.

Williams (2-0) has posted a 3.25 ERA in 27 2/3 innings with 13 walks and 32 strikeouts. The opposition is hitting .172 against him.
John Lambert - Santa Barbara Foresters (California Collegiate League)
Lambert made his starting debut on July 23 against Urban Youth Academy, allowing two runs on five hits in five innings of work. He walked four and struck out six in a no-decision. The Foresters went on to win 7-4.
In 12 innings covering six appearances, Lambert is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA. He has walked 12 and struck out 16.
Jeremy Synan - Greensboro Grasshoppers (South Atlantic League (A) - Marlins)
After going hitless in four straight games between July 20-24, Synan once again began tearing the cover off the ball in a four-game set against Savannah earlier this week. In the July 28 game, Synan went 4-for-4 with three doubles, a triple, a walk, two RBIs and two runs scored in an 11-7 Greensboro loss. Synan hit .429 (8-for-19) in the series.

On the year, Still is hitting .242 with 29 doubles, a triple, 11 home runs, and 70 RBIs. He is tied for the league lead in doubles and is third in RBIs.
