To the Wolfpack Nation
Re: Inaugural Kay Yow Spring Football Game
Wolfpackers,
What a great day for North Carolina State University! On behalf our the entire NC State football family, I want to thank you all for the record setting turnout (21,075) and unprecedented support (almost $30,000) for the inaugural Kay Yow Spring Football Game. It is this level of commitment that makes NC State such an amazing place for students, faculty, staff and coaches to call home.
We want to send special thanks and recognize all of those who gave so generously to the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund and Wolfpack Club’s Kay Yow Memorial Endowment on Saturday. The stories of exceptional generosity from the front gates continue to stream in, and provide a gleaming example of how special Coach Yow was to the Wolfpack community. This was only the first step to generate additional financial support for Coach Yow’s legacy, both here at NC State and beyond, and it is our goal to break attendance and donation records for many years to come.
Now that the spring is over, and our status as North Carolina’s best attended spring game is intact, we are more excited than ever for the 2009 football season. We will continue to move forward as a program and put in the hard work necessary to reach our goals as champions in the classroom, the community and the football field. For me, September 3 cannot come soon enough, and we are excited to have all the Wolfpack Nation join us as we take on the Gamecocks from South Carolina.
All the best, and as always...GO PACK!
Sincerely,
Tom O’Brien
