Softball Tabbed Fourth in ACC Preseason Poll

RALEIGH, N.C. NC State softball was picked fourth in the annual ACC preseason poll, as released by the conference office on Thursday, Feb. 5. The Pack, which returns 13 letterwinners from last season and adds nine freshmen, garnered 38 total points.
North Carolina grabbed the top spot with 63 points and all but one first place vote. Georgia Tech was picked second, while Virginia Tech placed third. Florida State, Maryland, Virginia and Boston College round out spots five, six, seven and eight, respectively.
NC State will begin its season next week, Feb. 13-15, at the Marriott Houston Classic in Houston, Texas. The Pack will take on Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas State and host Houston.
