Michelle is responsible for nutrition education and counseling for Wolfpack student-athletes and teams. A Registered Dietitian, Michelle is one of 300 in the country to be Board Certified as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics. Over the past several years, Michelle has also consulted with athletes from the NFL, MLB, and 8 other professional and Olympic-level sports in addition to a variety of local athletes and exercisers of all ages and levels. She is a member of the NCAA Health & Safety Speaker's Bureau and provides educational presentations and nutrition consulting services to colleges and universities throughout the country.
As co-founder RK Team Nutrition, Michelle coordinates and presents continuing education workshops for coaches and sports/health/fitness professionals and students throughout the U.S. Michelle has also been a frequent speaker at numerous professional meetings, on TV/Radio, and has articles published in several journals and magazines. She served 3 years as a member of the Gatorade Sports Science Institution Sports Nutrition Advisory Board and continues to consult with the food industry on nutrition-related issues.
Previously, Michelle served as Director of Sports Nutrition for the University of Florida Athletic Association (1999-2005). She completed her dietetics training at NIH and B.S. and M.S. degrees at Virginia Tech where she was a Track & Field Athlete, team captain, and 5-time conference champion for the Hokies. In 2007, Michelle was named Outstanding Recent Alumni from the College of Agriculture and Life Science at Virginia Tech.
