Poulk led off the game with a single to left off of Cory Mazzoni, went to second on a wild pitch, took third on a fly ball to right field, and scored when Harold Riggins bounced into a force play.
Riggins led off the top of the third off of reliever Nick Rice and rolled a single up the middle. Chris Schaeffer drew a one-out walk and Chris Diaz laid down a one-out bunt to move the runners to second and third with two outs for Poulk, who pulled a double down the right-field line to drive in both runs.
Buchanan, who faced the minimum six batters in his two innings of work, got the win. He allowed one hit, which was erased on a double play. He did not record a strikeout. Nick Price, who pitched for both squads, struck out the side in the third to get credit for a save. Mazzoni allowed the one run on two hits in his two innings on the mound. He walked two and did not record a strikeout.
