Mortlock Has Solid Start at ITA Regional

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The NC State women's tennis team began competition today at the ITA Regional Indoor Championships.
In the qualifying singles round Diana Mortlock got off to a fast start. In her first match, Mortlock beat Brooke Walter of East Carolina, 6-0, 6-2. Following that she took down Lindsay Leblang of UNC Wilmington, 6-2, 6-0.
The singles main draw will begin tomorrow. Lenka Hojckova, Berkeley Brock, Tana Illova, Sandhya Nagaraj, Ashley Miller and Mortlock will all take the court.
In doubles competition, Mortlock and Illova teamed up to beat Petra Vogel and Brooke Walter of East Carolina, 8-1. Tomorrow they take on Amanda Granson and Ellah Nze of Duke. Miller and Brock took down Richmond and Sachs of East Carolina, 8-3. Hojckova and Nagaraj had a bye and will compete against Wong and Magnusson of Clemson.
