Athletics Implements New Student Ticketing Policies

On-line tickets, available through the ticket center at GoPack.com, will be distributed based on a student’s accumulation of “loyalty points,” a tiered system that gives greater weight to upperclassmen but allows students who attend many games throughout the season to catch up.
“These policies are the result of tremendous student feedback,” Dawkins said. “The more games you attend, the greater opportunity you will have to win future distribution.”
Based on a student’s standing from the NC State Records and Registration office, seniors and graduate students will begin the season with five loyalty points; juniors will begin with four points; sophomores three and freshmen two. For each game a student attends with a valid student ticket, he or she will receive another priority point.
As students accrue more points, they will increase their chances of receiving tickets to future Wolfpack home football games at Carter-Finley Stadium.
“We are excited to see how students will begin to track their loyalty points and how that will affect the lottery process for future games,” said Brian Kelly, assistant athletics director for ticket operations.
Those who do not make a request for on-line student ticketing will still be able to attend Wolfpack home games by utilizing a game-day standby line inside the lobby of the
Only current NC State students can wait for standby tickets. No guest tickets will be distributed in the standby line.
“We hope that the implementation of the standby line will improve arrival time at the gates as well as give another opportunity for students not getting a ticket online to see Wolfpack games,” said Colin Hargis, assistant director of ticket operations.
If tickets are available for those in the standby line, students will be allowed to enter, on a first-come, first-served basis, the game 15 minutes after kickoff and will be directed to vacant seats in seating areas 14/15, in the upper level of the east grandstand.
The addition of a standby line means late-arriving students and their guests with valid tickets run the risk of losing their seats if they are not in the stadium prior to kickoff. Students are encouraged to arrive early, not only to claim the best possible seating location, but also to ensure admittance to the game.
“Coach Tom O'Brien and his team are motivated by the students who come early and fill the lower sideline seating,” said Dick Christy, associate athletics director for external operations. “We hope the standby line will fill the last remaining seats in the upper level sections early as well.”
