HANAHAN, S.C. NC State women’s golf finished 11th at its season-opening tournament, the Cougar Classic at Yeaman’s Hall Golf Club. Lauren Doughtie was the Wolfpack’s top finisher, earning a tie for 21st.
The Wolfpack completed play with a three-day score of +37 (291-302-308=901).
Doughtie, starting from No. 7 during today’s shotgun start, bogeyed the first two holes of the day, but did rally to birdie Nos. 18 and 2 to play just one-over golf over the final 16 holes of the round to finish at +3 (71-73-75=219) for the tournament.
Freshman Meghan Chapman finished her first collegiate on a high note with a three-over 75 on Tuesday to finish tied for 47th at +11 (75-77-75=227).
