CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. NC State rising sophomore Julie Saleeby has been named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team.
Saleeby compiled a 3.974 grade-point-average as a biological sciences major last school year.
As a member of the 36th-ranked team in the nation last season, the first-year Raleigh, N.C., native posted a 79.1 stroke average, the fourth-best mark on the team.
She competed in eight of the 10 events on the year and posted her best tournament score at the Lady Tar Heel with a three-day total of +11 (77-72-78=227) to finish tied for 44th.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50% (Division I) or 66% (Division II & III) of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
