Atsur and Turkey to Face USA Basketball in China

Raleigh, N.C. - Former NC State guard Engin Atsr will be part of the Turkish National Team that will play an exhibition game against the U.S. Olympic Team this Thursday in Macao, China. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN2 at 8:00 p.m.

Atsr has previous playing experience with Turkey when he played in the 2006 FIBA World Championships. He helped that squad finish 4-1 in pool play, and advance to the quarterfinals before finishing in sixth place overall. He was also on the team that finished 12th at the EuroBasket 2007 Tournament held in Spain.

After graduating from NC State following the 2006-07 season, Atsr spent his first professional season in Italy with Benetton Treviso. He has recently signed with Efes Pilsen in Turkey for the upcoming season.
