4/21/2008 12:00:00 AM | Baseball
RALEIGH, N.C. -- April (and late March) has been the kindest month of the college baseball season for NC State. The Wolfpack has won 13 of its last 16 games, dating back to the last weekend in March, has won three straight weekend series in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and is 4-1 vs. ranked teams in that time.
And speaking of the rankings, the Wolfpack finally is receiving some love from the national polls. A week ago, only Rivals.com and Collegiate Baseball had the Pack ranked, Rivals at No. 22 and CB at No. 28. This week, Rivals.com and Collegiate Baseball both have NC State at No. 22 nationally. Baseball America has NC State at No. 24, and the National College Baseball Writers Association ranks the Wolfpack at No. 28.
NC State is 27-12 overall and returns to action Wednesday evening at UNC Greensboro. The Spartans are 24-14 on the season. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Lefthander Alex Sogard is scheduled to start for the Wolfpack.
