Rifle Gets Home Win Over VMI

Raleigh, N.C. The NC State rifle team defeated Virginia Military Institute on Saturday, Feb. 2 in Raleigh, N.C with a team total of 4,480 points. VMI divided into two teams and posted scores of 4,348 and 4,048 respectively. Noel Keck led the team in smallbore with 565 and Thomas Knight shot the team high score in air-rifle with a 571. The Pack is now 10-7 (7-0 SEARC/ 0-6 GARC) this season.
The Wolfpack shot a 2,208 in smallbore, as Keck led the team and Knight shot a 552. In air-rifle NC State was led by Knight and posted a team score of 2,272. In the air-rifle, the Pack never scored below a 565. The first VMI team scored a 2,177 in smallbore and 2,171 in air-rifle for 4,348 total points, and the second team scored a 2,034 in smallbore and 2,014 in air-rifle for a total of 4,048.
The Pack heads to SEARC No. 6 next weekend to also compete in the NRA and Collegiate Sectionals.
