RALEIGH, N.C. The NC State women’s tennis team will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. on Oct. 22 to compete in the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championship. The tournament will consist of both singles and doubles competition, and will last until Oct. 27. Singles play will begin with a pre-qualifying round, and winners of that round will advance to the qualifying singles. After advancing through the qualifying singles, those winners will join those selected to be in the main draw singles play.
Freshman Pender Sessoms will compete in the pre-qualifying singles on the first day, and fellow freshman Diana Mortlock and senior Neils Barringer will begin play in the qualifying round. Junior Berkeley Brock and sophomore Lenka Hojckova will compete in the main draw round.
The Pack will also have three doubles teams competing in the tournament. Brock and Hojckova will team up in the first round of doubles play, and junior Daria Petrovic and Sessoms will also compete together. Barringer and Mortlock are the third duo for the Pack in doubles competition.
