Rifle To Compete in SEARC No. 1

RALEIGH, N.C. The NC State rifle team will return to Charleston, S.C. to compete in the SEARC No. 1 on Saturday, Oct. 11. The event, hosted by The Citadel, will feature multiple teams from the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference. The Wolfpack is currently 1-1 (1-0 SEARC/0-1 GARC) this season after defeating The Citadel last week. The Pack fell to Army in the match. Last season, NC State was undefeated in SEARC play, and won the team’s second straight conference title.
The Pack posted a team score of 4,481 last weekend, and junior Katie Siegert posted a new personal best in smallbore with a score of 573. Newcomer Rachel Jones contributed to the team’s air-rifle score in her first match at NC State, and freshman Mark Nations was the fourth shooter for the Pack in smallbore.
