Rifle Wins SEARC No. 4

Dahlonega, Ga. The NC State rifle team took first place at the SEARC No. 4 in Dahlonega, Ga. on Saturday, Jan. 26. With a team score of 2,270, the Pack defeated Citadel, Clemson, Wofford, and host North Georgia. Katie Siegert not only led the team in the air-rifle event, but shot the highest score overall with a 572. The Pack is now 9-10 on the season.
Citadel took second place with a score of 2,234, closely followed by North Georgia who posted a 2,218. Clemson placed fourth and Wofford fifth with scores of 2,113 and 2,059 respectively. NC State took top honors at the event with solid performances from all four shooters. Katie Siegert took the top score, but Samantha Bullard took third with a 568, and teammate Thomas Knight placed right behind her with a 566. Noel Keck was also a top-ten finisher after shooting a score of 564.
The Pack will next head to Charleston, S.C. on Feb. 9-10 for the NRA Sectionals and NCAA Qualifiers.
