Rifle Takes 2nd at Palmyra Invitational

Palmyra, Pa. The NC State rifle team took second at the Palmyra Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 12 in Palmyra, Pa. The Pack fell to Kentucky, but overcame Penn State with an overall score of 4,454. Samantha Bullard shot a team high 571 in the air-rifle for the day, and Thomas Knight shot a combined score of 1,126. The Wolfpack is now 5-6 on the season.
Kentucky’s two teams shot a 4,636 (Blue) and 4,572 (White), while Penn State shot a 4,373. With only four competitors, the Pack posted a score of 4,454, and did not shoot below 557 in the air-rifle. Knight shot a 560 in the smallbore to lead the Pack in the event.
NC State will head to the Newkirk Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 19 in Cookeville, Tenn.
