Mangum, Surkamp Named Second-Team All-ACC

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State baseball's Caleb Mangum and Eric Surkamp were named second-team All-ACC by the league office on Monday, May 21. Mangum makes his second appearance on the All-ACC list, while Surkamp shows up for the first time.
A senior catcher from Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Mangum started all 30 league contests for the Pack this season, batting .300 with nine doubles, 24 RBIs and 23 runs scored in ACC play. A season ago Mangum was tabbed second-team All-ACC in a breakout junior year, later picking up all-tournament team honors at the ACC Tournament.
Cincinnati, Ohio native and sophomore hurler Eric Surkamp enters the upcoming ACC Tournament with a 2.94 ERA and a 4-3 record. With seven no-decisions on the year, Surkamp stands just one shy of the all-time school record. Surkamp has made 14 starts and tossed one complete game, holding opposing batters to a .239 clip. His 75 strikeouts on the season lead all Wolfpack pitchers.
NC State will start play at the ACC Tournament this Wednesday, May 23, taking on Virginia at 10 a.m.
