Women's Golf Holds Steady in Sixth at ACC Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The NC State women’s golf team remains in sixth place overall after day two of the 2007 ACC Championship at the par-72, 6,293-yard Carmel Country Club.
The Wolfpack shot a team total of +25 (313) on Saturday and has compiled a 36 hole score of +43 (619).
Freshman Emily Street continues to lead NC State individually after a seven-over 79 today. She sits 19th overall at +9 (74-79=153).
Sophomore Lauren Doughtie shot a six-over 78 today and stands one shot behind Street at +10 (76-78=154). She is tied for 20th overall.
Freshman Kathleen Strandberg fired the Pack’s best round of the day with a four-over 76. She finished strong on Saturday with birdies on the final two holes of her round. Overall, Strandberg is tied for 23rd at +11 (79-76=155).
Junior Stephanie Derrey shot an 80 today and is in 29th place at +13 (77-80=157).
Freshman Cindel Gwyn shot a second straight round of 83 and is tied for 39th at +22 (83-83=166).
Florida State’s Caroline Westrup leads individually at -8 (66-70=136), two shots better than Duke’s Amanda Blumenherst at -6 (70-68=138).
Duke leads the field overall at -5 (287-284=571), followed by Florida State at +16 (290-302=592) and Wake Forest at +17 (297-296=593).
Final round action is on Sunday.
