Raleigh, N.C. – Redshirt freshman Brandon Costner was named to the ACC All-Freshman team and was also tabbed as a third-team All-ACC selection announced by the ACC office on Monday. Sophomore Ben McCauley was named All-ACC honorable mention as well.
Costner currently leads all ACC freshmen in both scoring (16.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg). He also leads the Wolfpack in both categories. He is on pace to become only the seventh freshman in ACC history to lead his team in both categories during his rookie season. Costner ranks 10th in the ACC in scoring and fifth in rebounding, and has already set a new NC State freshmen scoring record with 474 points thus far.
McCauley currently ranks 14th in the ACC in scoring (14.9) and his 6.6 rebounds per contest ranks ninth. He is also second in the league in field goal percentage (.590). McCauley increased his scoring from last season by 12.8 points, the second-largest such increase in the ACC.
