Goodman Named ACC Wrestler of the Week

RALEIGH, N.C. — Sophomore 197-pounder Ryan Goodman earned Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week honors Monday for his second-period pin of Indiana's Nate Everhart in the Wolfpack's 22-18 upset of the 18th-ranked Hoosiers on Saturday.

With the Wolfpack trailing the team score 18-13 with two bouts remaining, Goodman pinned Everhart at the 4:17 mark to give NC State a 19-18 lead. Jainor Palma's late takedown clinched a 4-3 decision at heavyweight and gave NC State its first victory over a top 20 program since beating Penn State twice in 1987-88.

Goodman, ranked 15th by the NWCA, improved to 14-2 with the pin, his third of the season.
