“I thought we played excellent defense we got some rebounds early. I thought the defense really ignited our offense. Some guys came off the bench and had good efforts for us. We got a good one today.
“We have to get stops on the defensive end. When we do that, we’re a totally different team. Our defense certainly made the difference today.”
On substitutions
“Some of it was by design, so that the guys were ready to come in. They knew when they were going to get into the game.”
On bench play
“I thought our bench played a big part today. Ben [McCauley] played a great game and Simon Harris gave unbelievable effort.”
On Davison (next opponent):
“It’s going to be a 40-minute, knock-down drag-out fight of a game. They’ve got good players and they can play. We’re going to have to play solid defense, execute on offense and get some help from our bench. No question, it will take 40 minutes of good basketball.”

“Any time you play a team that’s bigger, stronger, faster and more physical than you are, you have to play above your game. We weren’t able to do that. They took advantage of us inside with their size and athleticism.
“The game plan was definitely to go zone. We felt that they didn’t have very many perimeter shooters. But we didn’t do a good job keeping them out of the interior.
“You are never happy with a loss. But our guys competed hard for the most part. I was an assistant at Florida State last year and we played these guys, so I knew that this would be a challenge for us.”
