Men's Basketball to Host UNC Pembroke in Final Exhibition

NC State Plays Host to UNC Pembroke in Exhibition Game: NC State will play its final exhibition contest Tuesday night, hosting UNC Pembroke. In the Pack's first exhibition contest, NC State downed defending Division II national champion Barton College 94-57 last Thursday. NC State's first regular season contest is Nov. 15 against William & Mary.

Wolfpack Begins Season Ranked No. 21 in AP Poll: NC State begins the 2007-08 campaign ranked No. 21 nationally in the Associated Press’ preseason poll released on November 2. The Wolfpack is one of three ACC teams ranked, UNC was No. 1 and Duke was No. 13.
NC State was last ranked in the preseason AP poll in 2004-05 at No. 19, and this season NC State was also ranked No. 24 in the preseason ESPN/USA Today Poll.
Balanced Scoring Leads Pack in First Exhibition Contest: Five Wolfpack players reached double figures, as NC State defeated Barton College in its first exhibition contest of the season last Thursday, 94-57. NC State started the game on a 30-8 run, and that lead was never less than 17 points the rest of the way as the Pack hit 58.6 percent (34-58) of its shots for the game.
Brandon Cosnter led all scorers with 22 points, including 17 in the first half. Fellow starters Courtney Fells (16) and Gavin Grant (14) both reached double figures, while freshmen forwards J.J. Hickson and Tracy Smith each scored 11 points off the bench.
