For NC State, the Duals mark a return to dual-match action after the team’s impressive seventh-place finish at last weekend’s Southern Scuffle. The Wolfpack, now at full strength with the return of sophomore 197-pounder Ryan Goodman to the lineup, is led by Goodman (6-1, third place at the Southern Scuffle and ranked 13th nationally), junior 157-pounder Kody Hamrah (7-5, fifth at the Southern Scuffle, No. 20 nationally), and senior heavyweight Jainor Palma (11-3, fifth at the Southern Scuffle, No. 17 nationally).
The Pack also has gotten strong performances from freshman 141-pounder Darrion Caldwell (7-3) and sophomore 149-pounder Joe Caramanica (7-4).
The Wolfpack has faced a tough early schedule, including three dual matches against ranked teams (Wisconsin, Northwestern and Iowa), plus the Southern Scuffle, which featured seven ranked teams and more than 70 ranked individuals.

South Dakota State has mostly participated in early-season tournaments, most recently at the Northern Iowa Open on December 3. The Jackrabbits dropped a 32-9 loss December 9 to Nebraska in their dual-match opener, then fell 30-14 to rival North Dakota State on December 15. Ryan Meyer (11-7 at 157 and 165 pounds), Chris Moran (9-8 at 174 and 184 pounds), Jeff Cooley (8-5 at 133) and Brad Gregory (8-7 at 149) have paced SDSU in its early-season action.
