Rifle Opens Spring Season at Palmyra Invitational

Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State rifle team will begin the spring portion of its schedule this Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Palmyra Invitational in Palmyra, Pa. Last January, the Wolfpack took first place at the Palmyra Invitational with a 4,452 total score (2,237 air-rifle / 2,215 smallbore).
The event marks the first of four competition dates for the Pack in January. In all, the Pack will compete in eight events this spring, two of which span multiple days. NC State will host the United State Military Academy on Jan. 28, before welcoming the Citadel and Virginia Military Institute on Feb. 3. NC State home matches are held at the Wake County Firing Range.
This past fall, Pack sharpshooters competed at four events, taking first place in the first three. NC State fell to perennial power and multiple past national champion West Virginia on Nov. 18 in Raleigh.
