www.CollegeFootballNews.com announced its preseason All-ACC selections and three Wolfpack standouts made the list, including two on the first team offense. Senior center Leroy Harris, who was named to the 2006 Rimington Watch list for the second straight season, is joined by versatile junior Darrell Blackman on the first team. Sophomore tailback Andre Brown was named to the All-ACC second team.
Harris was also tabbed as the sixth best player in the conference, regardless of position, and was the highest rated offensive lineman by the site.
Blackman spent his first two seasons as a tailback and kick returner, and it was his prowess in the latter that earned him the selection as the top kick returner in the ACC heading into the season. Blackman has been converted to wide receiver in the preseason.
Brown, who set a NC State freshman record with 248 yards rushing against Southern Miss, will anchor one of the deepest backfields in the country in 2006.
The Wolfpack football season kicks off September 2 as NC State hosts Appalachian State at Carter-Finley Stadium.
