RALEIGH - A limited number of season tickets are on sale to the general public for the upcoming 2006 football season.
The tickets, priced at $265 each, will be located in the 300 level of the new Red Zone, underneath the scoreboard in the north end zone of Carter-Finley Stadium.
The Red Zone project, which began at the conclusion of last season, is the third phase of upgrades and renovations to Carter-Finley, which began in 2001 with the enclosing of the south end zone and the construction of the Murphy Center and continued last year with the opening of Vaughn Towers above the east grandstands.
The $21 million Red Zone project adds 3,776 seats available for Lifetime Rights Seating, along with additional permanent bleacher seating for the marching band, students and general public, upping the seating capacity of the 40-year-old stadium to nearly 60,000.
"This is an excellent opportunity to bring more people into the Wolfpack football season-ticket family and to expose them to the huge changes that have been made to the stadium over the last six years," said Brian Kelly, NC State's director of ticket operations. "We are also celebrating the 40th anniversary of the opening of Carter-Finley, with various promotions and remembrances of some of the best games ever played there, so this should be a good chance for those in the general public to be a part of Wolfpack football."
Season tickets have been sold out seven consecutive years.
The Wolfpack, which finished 7-5 last season and beat South Florida 14-0 in the Meineke Car Care Bowl, will host seven home games this fall, beginning with a Sept. 2 contest against defending NCAA Division I-AA champions Appalachian State.
Other home games include non-conference opponents Akron and East Carolina and ACC foes Boston College, Florida State, Wake forest and Georgia Tech.
Tickets may be purchased on-line here or by calling the NC State ticket office at (919) 865-1510.
