Lowery, Brown Are Top Performers in Spring Practice

Senior linebacker Pat Lowery was named the Most Valuable performer on defense, while Sophomore halfback Andre Brown won the award for offense for their performances during 2006 spring workouts. The annual awards, which were voted on by the coaching staff, were announced to the team before today's spring game.
Lowery was also the defensive recipient of the team's leadership award, was named the defense's "Big Hitter" and earned the award for "Most Dependable" linebacker. Fellow senior Marcus Stone won the Leadership award for the offense. Center Leroy Harris was named the team's most "Most Dominant" performer for the offense.
The team's top newcomers on offense were redshirt freshmen Mike Greco and Jamelle Eugene, while defensive tackle Ted Larsen, also a redshirt freshman, was the defensive recipient.
