Derrey Leads Wolfpack To 11th Place Finish

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. - Stephanie Derrey finished 10 strokes over par and tied for 26th place to lead the NC State women's golf team to 11th place at the Bryan National Collegiate March 31-April 2. The Wolfpack came out blazing in the first round, but stumbled in the second round. Lorraine Ballerano shot a team best one over over the final 18 holes to lead NC State towards making up seven strokes on the last day at the par 72 Bryan Park Champions Course.
Ballerano finished 12 over and tied for 33rd place. Nancy Mountcastle and Milly Birmingham both ended up four strokes behind Ballerano and Jessica Vincent also competed for the Wolfpack.
Georgia won the three-day, 54-hole, 17-team tournament at 11 over and the Bulldogs' Taylor Leon was the individual medalist at three under.
