NC State Defeats North Carolina at Triangle Shoot Out

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State rifle team returned to action on Monday, Feb. 20, hosting North Carolina at the annual Triangle Shoot Out. NC State downed the UNC club team, 2,283-1,524, with sophomore Thomas Knight leading the Wolfpack and tying his personal record with a 577 air rifle score. Junior Jennifer Marshall finished second for the Pack, firing a 572, while junior Matthew Gifford offered a 571. Freshman Noel Keck, who has been coming on strong as of late, set a new personal record with a 563 score. Sophomores Jenna Matino and Joel VandenEnde competed, but their scores were not applied to the team total. The Pack now stands at 25-4 on the year (16-2 SEARC / 0-4 GARC.
The NC State rifle team will close out its season next Saturday, Feb. 25, at the SEARC Championships in Charleston, S.C. The Citadel will host the event.
