NC State Downs the Citadel in Small Bore Match

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The NC State rifle team returned to action on Sunday, Feb. 12, in the second of two days at the Collegiate Sectionals in Charleston, S.C. Competing in small bore, the day's event also counted as an NCAA Qualifier. The Pack finished first overall in the non-conference bout, posting a team score of 2,247. Junior Matthew Gifford posted the top score overall, firing a 574. In addition to Gifford, sophomore Thomas Knight and junior Jennifer Marshall rounded out the top-three overall scores, adding a 566 and 563 respectively. Freshman Noel Keck's 544 stands as a new personal best for her, as does sophomore Jenna Matino's 533. The Pack now stands at 24-4 on the year (16-2 SEARC / 0-4 GARC).
The NC State rifle team will return to competition next Saturday, Feb. 18, as they play host to the annual Triangle Shoot Out in Raleigh, N.C.
