NC State third baseman Matt Mangini picked up Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week honors from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper for the second straight week and also garned ACC Player of the Week honors. The sophomore from Holly Springs, N.C., has started off the 2006 season absolutely on fire, enjoying his second incredible three-game series in as many weekends. He went 9-for-12 against Hofstra this past weekend with three triples, one double, eight runs scored and 7 RBIs. In six games this season, Mangini is batting .800 (20-for-25) with three triples, two doubles, 13 runs scored and 14 RBIs.

The Wolfpack, 6-0 and ranked 19th in the nation by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, return to the diamond this weekend when it travels to Charleston, S.C., to play Nebraska, Richmond and the Citadel.
