John Deraney Accepts Invitation to Magnolia Bowl

Senior kicker/punter John Deraney has accepted an invite to compete in the Magnolia Bowl on December 23rd in Jackson, Miss. The Magnolia Bowl was created to give more collegiate athletes an opportunity to showcase their skills to professional scouts.

Deraney, a 6-4, 224 lbs kicker from Fayetteville, Ga., completed his Wolfpack career among the top-10 in school history in field goals made, field goal percentage, punts, punt average and punting yards. Deraney was one of just eight kickers nationally to handle all of the team's kicking duties (field goals, kickoffs, punting) in 2006. He was also the only player on both the Lou Groza and Ray Guy Award preseason watch lists for 2006.
