NC State’s long snapper, William Lee, was named a first-team ESPN the Magazine CoSida Academic All-District selection. Lee, who graduated with an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering in May of 2006, is pursuing his master’s degree in the same field while remaining a key element of the Wolfpack special teams. Lee will be eligible for Academic All-American based on him earning first team all-district honors.
Lee, from Fuquay-Varina, N.C., has been named to the Dean’s list all eight semesters of his college career and was named an academic all-ACC selection in 2005. He earned the team’s highest GPA award in 2004.
Lee is the team’s long snapper on field goals, extra points and punt. He has helped the Pack connect on 81-of-82 extra points in his career and the team didn’t allow a blocked punt in 2004 or so far in 2006. Lee is the fifth leading tackler on special teams with four stops.
