NC State, South Carolina to Meet in Football

NC State Director of Athletics Lee Fowler has confirmed that NC State and the University of South Carolina have reached an agreement with ESPN to play football in 2008 and 2009. The Wolfpack will travel to Columbia on Thursday, August 28, 2008 and the Gamecocks will visit Raleigh on Thursday, September 3, 2009.

The Wolfpack’s previously scheduled 2008 contest at Tennessee has tentatively been moved to an undetermined date in the 2013 season.

“We are excited to renew the rivalry between NC State and South Carolina,” said NC State Director of Athletics Lee Fowler. “Getting to play a home-and-home series with a quality opponent that is within driving distance for many of our fans is very important to us as well.”
