Wolfpack Rifle Places First in Conference Bout

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The NC State rifle team returned to action on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the SEARC#4 competition in Spartanburg, S.C. The Pack finished first amongst all teams, posting a total score of 2,228. Junior Matthew Gifford posted the team's best air rifle scoring, firing a 567, while fellow junior Jennifer Marshall shot a 566. Sophomore Thomas Knight scored a 563, while freshman Jenna Matino offered a 532.
The Wolfpack rifle squad will compete again tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 22, with a home match against VMI and the Citadel in Raleigh. Next weekend the Pack will head to Milledgeville, Ga., to compete at the SEARC#5 competition.
